A monastory was reputedly founded here in the 5 th century by St Patrick, who placed it in care of St Cassán, whose relics were venerated here. 

Un monastère aurait été fondé au 5ème siècle par saint Patrick, qui l'aurait placé sous la protection de Saint-Cassan, dont les reliques sont vénérées ici.
