Ireland - Co. Meath - Navan - Boyne River Ruxton Lock Bridge

Work on the Boyne Navigation Canal began in 1748 by engineers Thomas Steers and his deputy John Lowe, with the construction of the sea-lock at Oldbridge. The final section of the Upper Navigation between Slane and Navan was completed and opened in 1800.

Les travaux sur la partie navigable de la rivière Boyne commencèrent en 1748 avec les ingénieurs Thomas Steers et son adjoint John Lowe. Le premier ouvrage construit fut l'écluse de Oldbridge qui jonctionnait la partie navigable avec la mer. La partie supérieure entre Slane et Navan a été achevée et inaugurée en 1800.
