Northern Ireland - Co. Antrim - Garron Point

This pillar at Garron Point has been worn by the erosion. It is in fact a sea stack, of which there are many examples along the Coast Road. They became separated from the main cliffs at a time when the sea level was much higher than at present.

Ce rocher à la pointe Garron a été façonné par l'érosion. Il s'agit en  fait d'un pilier maritime comme il en existe beaucoup le long de la côte plus en moins loin du bord de mer. Ces rochers se sont séparés des falaises à une époque ou le niveau de la mer était beaucoup plus haut.
