Almost 80,000 persons visit the Park annually and it is estimated that about 10% of visitors climb the Diamond Hill. Diamond Hill rises to just under 500 metres and is situated close to the Visitor Centre within Connemara National Park, which is managed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) of the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
