Continual visitor usage has caused severe erosion to the site and NPWS intends carrying out a scheme of works to protect this important site which is a candidate Special Area of Conservation (cSAC). NPWS of this Department has commissioned an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for a proposed walking route up Diamond Hill.
