Nalhea Head

Nalhea Head is one of the amazing geological features that characterize the Aran Islands. It is a one hundred meters high headland on the sea. Here, the sea-chiseled limestone bluffs of Inishmore rise 300 feet above the Atlantic. Inland, hundreds of miles of stone walls ring thin soiled fields where islanders toil in a land known for "Ciúnas Gan Uaigneas", Gaelic for "quietness without loneliness".
La pointe de Nalhea est l'une des particularités géologiques qui caractérisent les îles d'Aran. Il s'agit d'un promontoire d'une centaine de mètres sur la mer. Ici, les falaises découpées culminent à 100 mètres de hauteur. A l'intérieur des terres, des centaines de km de murs en pierre parcourent les prés. Depuis plus de 3000 ans, les insulaires travaillent dur dans cet endroit appelé "Ciúnas Gan Uaigneas", ce qui signifie la "tranquillité sans la solitude".
