Esk Tower is situated on top of Carhoo Hill on the southern side of Dingle Harbour. It was erected in 1847 as part of a 3 beacon structure to guide boats safely into the harbour. From Dingle town the large wooden hand, which was the guide directing the boats towards the harbour mouth, is visible, the structure is made from dry stone and is completely solid.
