Ireland - Co. Donegal - Inishtrahull lighthouse from Malin Head

Inishtrahull Island (Irish : Inis Trá Tholl, meaning island of the bloody beach) is located approx 6 miles north-east of Malin Head, Inishowen, County Donegal. It is the most northerly island of Ireland. The rocks on Inistrahull Island show that it once formed part of the ancient North American continent Laurentia, along with other parts of nortwest Ireland. The lighthouse of the island was put into operation in 1813, and its light flashes every 30 seconds.

L'île d'Inishtrahull (en irlandais : "Inis Trá Tholl", ce qui signifie "île de la baie ensanglantée") est située à environ 10 km au nord-est de la pointe de Malin. C'est l'île la plus au nord de l'Irlande. Comme quelques autres îlots dans le nord-ouest de l'Irlande, le rocher d'Inistrahull semble faire partie de l'ancien continent nord américain Laurentie. Le phare d'Inistrahull a été mis en opération en 1813, et sa fréquence est de 30 secondes.
