Northern Ireland - Co. Antrim - Ballintoy Church

The Ballintoy Church is about six milles west from Ballycastle. It was founded by the Stewart family who settled on the north coast in 1560. The Church was rebuilt in the seventeenth century, it originally had a tall steeple which was destroyed by a hurricane in December of 1894, this was one the most powerful hurricanes to hit the north coast in the 1800's.

L'église de Ballintoy se trouve à 10 km environ à l'ouest de Ballycastle. Elle fut fondée par la famille Stewart qui s'installa sur la côte nord en 1560. L'église fut reconstruite au 17ème siècle. Son clocher fut détruit par un ouragan en décembre 1894, l'un des plus terribles du siècle.
