The Giant's Causeway was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986, and a National Nature Reserve in 1987 by the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland. The Giant's Causeway is today owned and managed by the National Trust and it is the most popular tourist attraction in Northern Ireland.

Le site de la Chaussée des Géants au nord de l'Irlande a été déclaré comme faisant partie du patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO en 1986. Le site est une réserve naturelle nationale depuis 1987, il appartient au National Trust qui le gère et l'entretient. Il s'agit du site touristique le plus visité d'Irlande du Nord.
