Northern Ireland - Co. Antrim - The Maidens from Drains Bay

The Maidens or Hulin Rocks are two visible rocks situated approx six miles off the Antrim coast. Lighthouses were established on the visible east and west rocks, between 1828 and 1829. The West Light was abandonned in 1903, and the buildings have now been taken over by nesting seabirds. The current lighthouse is painted black and white, has a height of 23 meter's and nominal range of 24 nautical miles. The station was automated on the 31 October 1977

Les Maidens (ou Rochers de Hulin) sont deux rochers visibles à 10 km environ de la côte du comté d'Antrim au nord-est de l'Irlande.. Les phares furent construits sur les rochers ouest et est en 1828 et 1829. Le phare Ouest fut abandonné en 1903 et les bâtiments sont maintenant colonisés par les oiseaux de mer. L'actuel phare, implanté sur le rocher Est, est peint en blanc et en noir, a une hauteur de 23 mètres et son éclat porte à 24 milles nautiques (environ 44 km). Le phare fut complètement automatisé le 31 octobre 1977.
