The new Causeway Coastal Route from Larne to Ballycastle was commenced in 1832 and completed in 1842, at a cost of around 37,000 £. The work was done by local men, under the direction of a Scottish engineer. The Blackcave Tunnel ou Black Arch, which cuts through the basalt headland south of Drains Bay, forms the gateway to the Antrim Coast an Glens (AONB). |

La nouvelle route côtière de Causeway fut construite entre Larne et Ballycastle de 1832 à 1842, pour un coût de 50 000 € environ. Le travail fut réalisé par des ouvriers locaux sous la direction d'un ingénieur écossais. Le tunnel de Blackcave (ou "Arche Noire") coupe la pointe basaltique de la baie de Drains et marque l'entrée de la côte et des vallées d'Antrim. |
