In the 1960s, almost three hundred fish were caught per day, but by 2002, only three hundred were caught over the entire season. The salmon return via the area to spawn in the River Bann and the River Bush.

Dans les années 60, trois cent saumons pouvaient être capturés par jour, mais en 2002,il fallait une saison entière pour en capturer autant. Les saumons qui passent ainsi par Carrick-a-Rede retournent dans les rivières Bann et Bush pour y frayer.
